Descending families prepare to travel to their ancestral cemetery in Magy, Hungary, to personally view the results of their tedious fundraising efforts - a fully fenced and renovated cemetery. After years of lying in ruin and neglect, the place now sports a brand new concrete wall with dignified, erected stones and clean grounds.

The cemetery in Sisov, Slovakia was beautifully restored through the sponsorship of the descendants, its property fully fenced with a durable, concrete wall, and its matzevos re-erected atop new, concrete foundations. This marks the tenth project in HFPJC's 2019 restoration season.

Another successful project was completed under the Endowment Program, carried through by the HFPJC and its dedicated staff. The entire site was fully enclosed with a new, concrete wall and the interior was thoroughly cut and cleaned to honor the memory of the pious individuals who are resting within.

The 2019 restoration season went into full swing with the launching of the Mara, Romania cemetery project, the third project in the post-winter construction. This cemetery was beautifully and efficiently restored, with a full concrete wall erected along its borders and the gravestones re-installed on new, concrete foundations.

A violent storm ripped off a part of Presov's old wall, prompting a full reconstruction of that section. A tough and comprehensive building project was undertaken that includes laying a new heavy foundation for the concrete structure, and building the full, poured cement wall.

Mar 14 2019

A beautiful stone wall was erected around Nagyvazsony, in partnership with the Hungarian Government. Due a town requirement, the wall had to be built using the same freestone style as all the other structures in this region. This was made possible by the assistance of the Endowment Program, to the joy and relief of all descendants.

The Kisleta cemetery in Hungary was beautifully restored in partnership with the Hungarian Government under the Endowment Program. A new, strong wall was erected along the original cemetery borders, effectively marking the entire property. Through a private sponsorship of the esteemed descendants, the gravestones were also restored atop new, concrete foundations.

The HFPJC kicked off a successful partnership with the Hungarian Government's Endowment Program by executing the important Nagysimonyi restoration project. A section of the wall and the entrance building were beautifully rebuilt under the Endowment Program, and the gravestones were re-erected under a private initiative by the descendants.

In their determined quest for security and dignity in their ancestral cemetery, the Magy descendants galvanized quickly to jump-start this important project. Barely a year has passed since the initial evaluation, and a robust wall stands erect around the entire site, protecting and honoring it, as befits a Jewish final resting site.
